Each year the city of Bathurst holds a winter festival of light that celebrates the cultural and architectural heritage of the city.
Working with Anna Fraser, we designed and created the centrepiece of the festival - an 8-minute large-scale projection, mapped to the Court House building in the heart of the city.
The visual experience is an abstract and playful reflection of contemporary Bathurst, celebrating the themes of community, place, education, industry, energy and nature.
To visualise the dynamic forces at play in these themes, the animations were driven by simulated physics, including turbulence, wind, gravity, magnetics, vortexes and collisions.
